Dr. Ongley provides individual counseling for those desiring it. While his training in Formational Counseling was focused on sexual abuse, sexual addiction and unwanted same-sex attraction, he has also helped those struggling with depression, anxiety and recovery from a variety of addictions.
Formational Counseling combines three disciplines:
- Formational Prayer
- Spiritual Direction
- Spirit-led Counseling Techniques
Because of the nature of Formational Counseling, his practice is limited almost entirely to those who are Christians. Sessions typically last 1 to 1 ½ hours, although some prefer an intensive one day approach with 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. The fee per hour is determined according to household income. Payment can be made online or by cash or check. The length of time in the counseling process varies from a few sessions to a period of months, depending upon the needs and goals of the counselee. Counseling is usually done in his office in Beaver Falls, PA. In some cases, sessions can be conducted by phone or via Skype.
Allen"As we progressed through the process, Mark provided exceptional insight, pointing out tangible elements of healing that the Holy Spirit was bringing about. I am very grateful for my time with Mark and for the growth that God has brought about in my life as a result."
